Cousin's Wedding

was a pretty simple event cos she didnt wanna make things difficult for her hubby. a warm and cozy affair with close ones. tho i slept at 3am (cos was hanging out at ECP w frenz) till late, i woke up at 6am feeling drowsy but having to put on make up made me wake up =] so while waiting for the bride to be ready, we got ourselves busy.

presenting the pretty bride!
the happy couple!
there was the traditional tea ceremony of serving tea to the elders then took more pictures since it was too early to proceed on to the church.
was my first time attending a church wedding. seemed really nice and all, till the priest started talking. his voice was pretty droning cos he was talking in a very weird accent perhaps cos he was a foreigner, but the songs sung by the mini choir sounded real nice. wonder what it feels like walking down the aisle *day dreams*

exchanging rings! "till death do us part" =]
after mingling around we proceeded on to the luncheon. think the gown the bride wore was really beautiful! she looked especially pretty that day =] may they be happy always! in between the whole sequence of events till the end, my lovely family were busy snapping pix away! woooots~! presenting the pretty sis that all of u cant help but comment =]

and now... the wacky kids of the house!
wooweee~ most number of silly pix taken in a day! haha.. and now that daddy has parked the car, it's time for pix with the whole gang at our fave spot where someone actually commented "which lobby is this at?" haha.. daddy must be so proud of his creation =]

I'm LoViNG It!

Chill Out-s

Part 2 on Saturday was to go for a wine appreciation course organised by Feng. interesting stuff i learnt that there were many different types of grapes, and also tt u were not supposed to mention the word 'grapes' when asked what kinda content was mixed in the wine. Place was at Winebos near Clarke Quay.the main focus was that we were supposed to be there to taste and appreciate the wine, but most of us were waiting anxiously to see what food was gonna be served next cos we were hungry! boy, does the climbers finish up their food pretty fast in comparison with other tables, all of whom were related to Feng one way or another. popular guy there =]
tasted 4 types of wines which were accompanied with some snacks, and we ended up quite full at the end of the session. shall share some info with ya:
  1. White wine: Las Corazas (grape variety: Macabeo) accompanied with crackers and cheese
  2. White wine: Bianco Leggero, Sauvignon Blanc (grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc & Muscatel) accompanied with a mixture of white mean atop crackers
  3. Red wine: Goldleaf Classic Red (grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Shiraz) accompanied with potato chips and sausages
  4. Red wine: Las Corazas (grape variety: Tempranillo) accompanied with pizza

the mood was really relaxed and felt so laid-back w the gang. we also got to taste ice wine, or rather 'nice wine', cos of its sweetness. ooh-la-la, really liked it though it felt a little thick. cheers with the pretty babe who gets reddened easily like me! but i drank pretty little in comparison to her cos i wanted to be sane when i met up w my couz later on =]
oh and we took in the festive spirit of CNY by popping by into chinatown which was still very crowded past ten at night, and i satisfied my craving of Chengtng in Maxwell market. haiz.. but still cant beat the one at Bedok Corner. heard that there's a better one at Toa Payoh? i needa try! oh and Adrian's talk abt tau huay with ahballing sounds really yummy! i wanna try tt too! gosh.. i'm a glutton.. needa cut down on food..*bites lips*
Part 3 was w the couzzie whom i'll only get to meet like twice a year cos he studies in the US. miss him lots and lots! it's great to be in the heartlands drinking beer and hear my couzzies talking shit! haha.. i mean they talk loads of rubbish which is seriously entertaining =D hmmm.. perhaps i'll get a chance to meet him later this year if i go over and visit him!
alrightyz, tho i've been eating and drinking, i don't forget to exercise! have been jogging around the estate and even had an early morning jog with Nitz to Bedok Reservoir and back! haha.. we both felt a sense of accomplishment but feel that we can run further just tt a bit lazy and we were catching up abt some happenings in our lives. ahh.. and we tried this Raisin bomb at this kopitiam opposite TJC which i spotted in the food blog. was uber uber nice! crispy on the outside but yet soft on the inside and was very tasty! what a good way to start a Sunday morning =]
ooh, hopefully Nitz gets inspired to run more so that we can encourage and pace each other. it rocks to be healthy, now i just hafta cut down on my food intake cos i've officially put on the pounds! ah.. and i've gotta cut down on shopping and spending moolah on relatively expensive lunches cos i wanna save up to fly here and there. wheeee~
have a happy weekend ahead! it'll be a busy one for me, which is good =] cya next week!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

to the greatest, most amazing Dad in the whole wide world! it was a sunny Saturday @ home with Mummy's yummy cake ( 1st cake of the day). bro wasnt there cos he was taking care of his recruits back in Tekong.

then off we went to the place where i was sure no one had stepped into since it had just opened in Dec '07.. St Regis Hotel! i decided to bring my family there for Dim Sum cos i read abt the good reviews in Sunday Times.

take a look at the huge chandelier at the entrance of the hotel! the place looked really nice and i'm sure the prices are extremely pretty too since a night's stay here could be easily priced at $700+ per night.

super duper miss my bro when he's in camp all day.. when the two lil' bros are at home, there's a whole lot of ruckus but it really emphasizes the warmth in the family. and these two kids really crack me up with their funny language when they talk to each other =]

alrighty, now for the food @ Yan Ting! Daddy wanted me to pick and order the dishes as usual, but didn't want to since it was his birthday and he knows the good dishes to order for dim sum. in the end we ordered a total of 10 diff types and they were all really yummy! *slurps* the service was also impeccable! *thumbs up!* just that it took a little long for the dishes to be prepared.

at the end of the meal when they asked if wanted to take any desserts, i told them i had corresponded with one of their staff who had offered me a complimentary dessert of my choice for the birthday person. they took pretty long to get back to me, but when they did, they advised that they were preparing a birthday cake! *stunned* but the wait was really worth it, cos the bday cake looked really good and it was on the house! gee, Dad was really shy and didn't want us to sing a bday song the 2nd round, but the waitress started the ball rolling when she brought the cake in and we all joined in. Daddy looked really happy!

yeah! i'm glad my dad appreciated the effort in bringing the family out and everyone enjoyed the food =] good recommendation from the papers! oh, but think twice if you are thinking of having ala carte there, cos every dish is served per person, not one that everyone can share. average price for each dish is abt $12, so each person would prob be approx $100+. but dim sum was good which was slightly higher priced than $20 per person. *whew* luckily the bill wasn't too high, cos considering the ambience, service and food, it was really worth it!

my beautiful family with prob an addition to the family in about a year's time. anyway, just really glad my bros spiced things up for me. *hugs*

I Don't Gettit...

Love
what's it all about? who is the right one? is there any one?
love found.. then lost
pieced together.. then broken.. then healed
little giggles.. then tears.. then smiles
plans and promises created.. then broken and shattered
too jaded, too skeptical
i dunno what to believe anymore

People
who are they, really? all an act or a true portrayal? ignoring the minority, most i know are really sweet sweet ppl!
the nasty.. and the nice
the scheming.. and the sincere
the arrogant.. and the humble
the one who takes things for granted.. the other who treasures every small detail
the one who spreads but doesnt reflect.. the other who keeps trying but is unappreciated
the one whom i havent seen in ages but still click really well.. the one whom i'm in contact often and still talk like we havent seen each other in ages
the ones who hides in corner but i know they're there.. the ones who are around and never leave

Body
when will it ever be perfect or even satisfactory? what goes on internally?
fat thighs, big arms, bad skin
round tummy, small eyes
endurance.. physical, mental and emotional strength
organs' functionality.. internal complications
fighting.. healing..
injecting.. pumping.. downing pills..
it's so scary i just cant imagine

recently been thinking alot. then when it comes to blogging, nothing comes out. so weird.. so many things i wanna say then i realise tt there'd be some who'd judge me. don't give a damn rite? i'm too self-conscious abt myself at times tho i'd tell my frenz to be confident abt themselves and don't give a hoot abt what others think. ugh.. saying and doing are 2 different things. but there goes.. i dunno how to phrase words properly anymore unless i'm chatting w close frenz. they rock!

2008: a Better, Stronger ME

this will be the year of building up my character, to search my soul of who i really am and what i wanna be. i am shy, intolerant of shouts and afraid of debates. but i've gotta stand up to what i believe in, and have confidence and conviction in my words. i've gotta filter out the negatives, put the past behind me and take a strong stance.

some of the things i learnt in '07:

  • i was more independent than i thought i was
  • don't be afraid to turn from situations tt sting, for the next turn harbour happier things
  • when ppl change for the better, it doesn't mean tt in time, they won't change for the worse again. change, is still constant as always.
  • absolutely nothing can be taken for granted. treasure and appreciate the simple things in life. take a look around, and hug the ppl who were always there no matter what.
  • endure and persist are lessons in life that can never be discarded
anyway, the last few days of 2oo7 were spent in the company of close ones.
NYE's lunch was @ Ritz and then dinner was @ Timbre. yay! finally tried the food at the latter which is pretty famous for its pizzas. wasn't exactly fantastic but still a nice place to chill and is best to go about 9-ish, ten. after the dino's dinner, went to join a bigger party!

thx to Feng, Ly and San for then coming down again to go 85 for supper. the place was strewn with party poppers and confetti. oh, and it was one of the worst food we've tasted in tt place. at 2am, you bet the good food were all sold out. the one which was recommended by channel U was totally horrible perhaps bcos of the continuous stream of orders. but still, no excuse.

some of the few things to do in '08:

  1. dedicate and spend more quality time with my family
  2. travel and explore unfamiliar landscapes with family and frenz
  3. eat healthier
  4. exercise more frequently and tone up the body
  5. take part in various runs this year including half marathon first, then see if i'm up to the full marathon (same as Nitz. u there girl?) =]
  6. learn much more and take up more responsibility in my line of work

1st weekend of the year went well, with Nitz and i trotting over to 85 to eat ah balling! had this craving for the longest time.. and i was sooo pissed with the bus driver for going at a super duper slow speed when i was really kan cheong to catch the last bowl before the stall closes. *whew* we were the last few customers. and we chatted till we were kinda chased away by the cleaner cos he had to clear up. as we walked to the crossroads when we had to split to walk different directions, really didn't feel safe w Nitz walking quite a distance back. and her dad drove by in the nick of time! haha.. truly coincidental!

the next day was Mahjong with the youngsters of the Coy. i am no MJ fan and need guidance. played a few times cos HM and i were more interested in the telly. haha.. a truly slack and relaxed day. our first time going out and made a new friend too. nice!

and i had a lovely dinner with my whole family present eating our favourite guo tie! *grinz*

Have a GreAt YeaR ahead peeps!
