our 3rd day.. went up and descended again to acclimatise. with 3 of our guides

the 4th day was the most tiring with steep slopes that never seemed to end. 5th day, 12am: our final push to the summit.. ever since we started hiking up, every min we took to catch our breaths, the cold winds chilled our bones.. imagine waking up at 12 midnight to reach the peak at 8am. and even tt was not sufficient for us to complete the journey. not with less oxygen, not with little sleep and not with the bitter cold.. the route seemed endless. barren land, walking in darkness, then going up ice slopes.. our guide, Alex, was a really big help. he held me up when i was so afraid of falling / slipping and guided me every step, which i fought to walk upright as the air grew thinner and i grew wearier. Nitz was a blessing too as she was much stronger mentally and physically. her encouragement just kept me gg. and Claud's technical wear and equipment was a saviour, if not i'd really freeze in those temperatures..

being a mountaineer is definitely not easy, and every mountain one conquers is a big feat. i truly respect them and applaud their courage, determination and perseverence, only a few of the many amazing traits that they portray. Claud just returned from the Alps and i can't wait to hear her stories of her climbing expedition and see her photos!it's amazing to watch sunrise: 5000 over metres above sea level, above the clouds.. breathtaking.. totally..
