DecLared a BaD Day...

interviewers were 3 aunties. bombarded me with questions (perhaps i wasn't ready to answer their questions) sometimes quite useless ones too. "u're not here to learn, what can u contribute to us?" i'll give her my answers n then she'll say "but have u learnt them in school?" of couse not la! if i don't learn on the job, then where the hell do u expect me to learn? if u wanna find experienced ppl, why ask me down for an interview?! waste my time n yours?! "u've gone a big round but i still don't know what u want." (this could be true cos i just wanna get into the banking industry. sighzzz.. gotta read up more!) ugh.. horrendous experience. right from the start, the VP of HR just kept bombing me.. of course i fired back.. well, if she doesn't like me, nothing i can do rite.. duh! hop on to the next boat then.

i need to be stronger.. after the interview, i called him n broke down. luckily boat quay not many ppl walking pass cos of the hot sun, but anyway, i just needed to feel someone was there for me.. alright then, heard bad stuff abt being in Compliance: boring, monotonous, worse than operations.. was already prepared to go there for the experience, but boy! what an experience eh? oh well, for the following interviews, i'll be better prepared! watch me! RAWRRR!

RuNNiNg

after i returned home, decided to go for a run. the always-postponed, lotsa-excuses, just-being-lazy run. haha, yupz.. decided to shed off those weight due to the increased amount of eating after retiring from competitive climbing. sadly Nitz was in school and couldnt join me. running partners please? anyway, the initial inertia of walking gave way to a much desired sweaty run of perhaps slightly more than 4km. i remember Eli talking abt the cant-stop-shiokness-of running after awhile, n i'd kinda agree with that cos i dont wanna break the momentum. but of course my endurance aint as power as hers, where she can jog, or rather, run for more than 8km at the same pace of tthose above average guys. coolness..

running gives me a sense of escapism, a sense of liberation, a sense of relaxation. in the park, the lush greenery coupled with the sound of waves washing over the shore and the sea breeze cools my senses. as i refresh the day's events, i view things from a different perspective and take into account wise and consoling words from sis and him. every experience is a learning process, i take things in my pride and learn to overcome them. they were pretty tough interviewers, but there is a need for me to learn how to tackle such questions. i think of him and his reasons, though my heart needs no answers, my mind bursts to question.. but things are progressing.

i miss my frenz.. i miss Xin, i miss 7some, i miss Ling who'll only be back next summer, i miss Ru, i miss Sam, i miss my JC mates, i miss Von, i miss my Uni frenz whom i'll never again be able to attend lectures with, i miss the climbers whom i've come to share a special bond with the past 2 years and the possibility tt i may not see them as often as i'd like to in the future..

i miss u guys..

i miss u..

Back from Taiwan

7 days w 4 great ppl, with each other not knowing at least 1 other person in the group. but there wasn't any weird-ness to start with when we saw each other at the airport.

bus rides made us drop off to slumber, though some were spiced with some chatting w each other, w this cute auntie who always bickered with the tour guide. weather didnt hold up too well with close to 5days of rain (no thx to blur me forgetting to bring a jacket. borrowed a long-sleeve shirt from Guohui where i looked pretty weird). food was superb! the taiwan snacks really live up to its name but SF and i were disppointed with the shopping. was it cos we both got a bit sian after the first day at ximending tt's why we didnt bother to check out all the shops in other day/night markets? weirdly so, bcos JH bought tons of stuff from there as well as SF's fren's from another group. or perhaps, we just didn't like what we saw? 'one man's meat is another man's poison'. true indeed. but seriously, the stuff there was so BLING n glaring! huge shiny words splashed across clothings with sequins, lace and sparkles and danced around tops and shoes. sure, i do like bling, but too much of tt is just a turnoff. alright, before u get all hot and bothered since ppl think tt Taiwan has lots to offer, ask JH first ok? hehe... i'm a bit biased. but nonetheless, i bought a pair of boots, heels, a few pair of earrings, necklaces, hairband.. err.. come to think of it, it wasn't all tt bad yeah? haha.. SF just managed to get a top for herself n other stuff for her sis n fren (anything else?) of course, boxes of food were packaged in boxes to bring home cos they were yummy!

oh, n i absolutely lurrrve the wacky photos we all took. sadly, it's in Rick's cam so i'll hafta wait till it comes. i hope it does! here are some. this was where we were at this aboriginal village theme park, n i managed to persuade SF n Rick to try the plunge-28storeys ride. thrilling, exciting but most of all, death-defying! i'm sure our hearts were in our mouths n we were trembling for v long! scarreee but fun! (ask SF abt her experience =p) haha, the 5 of us also volunteered ourselves to dance with the entertainers. on stage! quite cool and then when we returned to our seats, the aborigines came at me n took out their 'knives' ready to kidnap me(photo w SF), but they got distracted by some other stuff n left. haha.. traumatic!
sun moon lake was also real pretty. and the weather decided to treat us well tt day =] we also visited a temple. well, there were many temples tt we visited. hmm.. i realised tt my Chinese really sux! cos i'll always hafta look to SF to ask her what it's abt, not helping is also my lack of understanding of any dialect. pfft..
some random shots..`
& our wu xiao fu (as termed by our tour guide) ~!

Finally... HOLIDAY-ING!

woohoo~! yupyup, it's as SF has said 'tmr is the day!' Taiwan, here we come! shopping, eating, sight-seeing, bitching, playing, enjoying and the cycle repeats itself. WHEE! grad trip with 4 NTU peeps, of which i only know one?! weird eh? ugh.. 7some, no last min backing out next time! heh, but i'm still looking fwd to the trip anyway cos like SF, i believe her frenz shd be as fun-loving as her =]

sheesh, missed the opportunity to go Korea w my bestie, Xin. had contemplated doing so after the AUS trip was cancelled, but the plane tic was 1300SGD which was 500 more than what Xin had paid (of course, the reason is also due to tt i'd be purchasing a single tic while they bought in a grp of 4). my parents also said, "u think u're touring the world?!" so, bah! *poof* didn't go.. but she had sooo much fun, she wouldn't mind going back there again. and if she does, which i think she will, she can bring me around then! yippee *cheers* we already said that after we start working, we'll go touring together! can't wait! but.. ah-hem *cough cough*, gotta get a job first.. *groans*

ok, first batch of resumes sending out soon, hopefully i'm lucky and get selected and called for an interview! alright, i ain't sure if photos will help me get selected cos i received different reviews on whether it helps, but just took an executive photo cos i think it's better personally. ok, here goes but looks pixelated. oh, they digitally enhanced it and gosh! the wonders of technology using adobe photoshop w pimples > gone, eyebags > gone, even skintone > achieved, widen the smaller eye > achieved, slightly more pinkish cheeks > achieved. now i see how models and artistes look so perfect in magazines and ads. pfft.. oh, tt's not to say i can be one, but that now, i think, i've gotta make myself look better since i know i can look better (without going under the knife of course!) =]

okie dokz, shall be off to pack bags, edit my cover letter and resume again to be tailored for the different positions and then, shall enjoy my hols! best of luck to the intermediate Rockmaster '07 finalists from NUS and i hope they achieve the top 3 positions, all of whom stand to gain cash prizes! yummy..

i'll be back on 24th May @ night, don't miss me too much my dears! =p

Meet Up

unable to cater to each of our busy schedules, we were only able to meet up half a yr later.. as usual, Quan was late again! ha, don't give the excuse that u think i'll be late so u left the office late.. bah! guys, don't let the girl wait! hmmphf.. anyway, before catching Spidey 3, had to go shop for long-sleeved shirts for him. doesn't everyone suit black and white? weird that he'd say his skin colour doesnt suit black.. hmm.. so i asked him to try la and among the 5 tt he tried, it was the best looking of all. ha, i've got good taste ok! *bleah*

thereafter we went to a new eatery opened by Billy Bombers, should be a franchise of theirs. well, the food was quite good and worth it. ha, took some photos to make sure i don't get fatter after the trip to Taiwan. if i do, just tell me! i'll go on diet and excercise vigorously!

anyway, Spidey 3 was good! Cher mentioned a few of the cinemas that Sony had installed stuff in the theatres to make the visual effects better? aint sure if Cineleisure was one though. the sand throwing stuff was pretty good! oh, and Harry Osborn played by James Franco, looked so much like Taiwan's Jerry Yen! *screams* alright, i'm not a fan of the latter, but that Harry looks so cute when he smiles! haha, Von agreed too.

i met Von today! WHEE! welcome back dearie! good to be home eh? am proud to have bought u your first Singapore dish since u returned last midnight > fried carrot cake, black without chilli =p haha.. met her lovely parents who dropped me off at my house. sooo sweet! thankies! talked to her dad about joining the banking and finance industry since he's a veteran. told me to prepare to push myself to the limit, and even if my boss doesn't push me, i've gotta push myself plus prepare to work long hours.. *pengzz* oh well, part of working life eh? just hope the pay compensates for it? =p he suggested too that i try being a management associate. ok, resume done. now, cover letter, then i'll be on fire!

of course, not forgetting to wish my dear sis HapPy BDaY on 8 May! since she's got everything she wants and doesn't lack of anything (all thanks to her darling bf), i did a photoframe for her. at least something from the heart instead of getting her stuff that she may not like. she likes it! ain't it pretty? oh, and not forgetting that the photo makes the whole outlook pretty too? haha.. i reached home just before the clock struck 12 and gave her the present. *whew*

this song keeps playing in my mind.. reminds me of how things are, how they seem to have gone "full circle" in Cher's words.. interesting huh? (ain't the pic apt? love it!) never thought of it, never expecting it, never would have believed it. things happen due to circumstances, they happen for a reason, but things continue because people want it to, they don't just continue because that's the way things are.

"...who are you, really?
...........what have u been doing?
..................who are your friends?
..........................who were u with before?
.................................what was your life like?
.........................................how much have u changed?
...................................................how similar are you still?"

are these relevant? does the past still matter? i wish it didn't but somehow, everyone tends to be reminded of the past bcos those were the memories, regardless of them being happy or sad ones. which one leaves a deeper impression depends on what u choose it to be, what u want to remember, either to store it away or keep it close to your heart.

a run does u good. after letting my thoughts run wild and thinking too much, i had to embrace nature. running to ECP is relaxing with others exercising around u. anyway, this was the place it started and all we needed was just 1 day to find back what had eluded us since way back then.

new but old > different but familiar > refreshing but complementary

returning to the same place but alone this time, i tried to sort out my thoughts, but as usual, nothing conclusive came out of it. ultimately, my heart reigns. sometimes i'm confused, but more often than not, i'm happy. am i deluding myself? i don't think so, and i hope not.

"just believe in me"

guess i'll still be waiting.. wait for who? what? where? just live in the moment, at the moment.

ShopPing!

wow~ after exams, first thing u do is, cut ur hair! 'u need a new look!' tt screams in my face when i look in the mirror.. another thing is 'go see ur Derm soon!' the second thing when u realise that school is over and a new stage of ur life beckons at u shouting ' u need a new wardrobe!' that's when the shopping craze begins! haha.. nah, don't get the wrong idea and think i'm a shopaholic though i lurrve shopping and returning home w new stuff in the shopping bags!

alright, on friday morn, shopping w mummy dearest in Cityhall! bought a satin blouse and covered shoes and also tailored a white shirt at Men's Tradition for $60. u see, the tailor initially said $70, then my mum asked for a better price and he said $65. then when he wrote the receipt, $60! woot~! so cool, it may be the mention of Andrew's name or mummy's presence or my Mei4 Li4! hehe.. *cheeky grinz* but mummy was so sweet cos when i told her i'd pay, she said "u're not working yet la, i'll pay." then she took out her credit card! so sweeeett!

then i met Rach @ Vivo after her last paper and we went Bakerzinn cos her friend was working there, and we got 25% off the bill! woot~ tt's like the biggest discount i've ever got! cool.. wow but since we shared the mushroom linguine with cream sauce + chicken and mushroom bruschetta which both has cream sauce btw, we were bloated! worth the money though, cos they gave huge servings of mushrooms which were lovely! we talked and sat there for 2+hr then we walked around but didnt manage to get anything.

later around 7+ in the evening, i went to meet sis in Orchard cos i wanted to buy some makeup stuff since i'm seriously lacking in those stuff. alright, it's not as if i'll apply it often, but i figure i'll need to look my best during interviews cos it seems that they'll tend to be a bit biased towards a person's appearance. be on the safe side ba. after walking around the makeup counters in Scotts Isetan, and trying on multiple lipstick colours and gloss, i settled for this Dior peach colour. the packaging looks great doesnt it!? it looks lovely and sparkly. sadly, i didnt get any gloss. but i've got a Shu uemura one already, so i'll finish using this ba. it's my first branded good. ermm.. is is counted? cos it aint exactly those bags or wallets tt cost hundred over bucks?!

well, guess that sums up my friday. sounds good shopping with 3 diff sweet ppl! thankies! peeps, i need to go shopping, so jio me yar? =]

oh, and this is my new hairstyle. ermm.. dunno if u guys see any diff but i don't really like it! all the rebonded hair is gone cos the guy layered till quite short.. hmmphf.. and if i wake up in the morn, the hair is all pong pong one.. ewww.. ugh! and it looks quite dry too.. not silky anymore.. grrr.. need a new hairstyle, but need to wait till more hair grows out first then i'll decide wat to do with it..

Last Day of Exams on 2nd May
hmm.. though i was glad the exams were over, there wasn't much cheers or fireworks going off in my head. it felt, like any other normal day. well, geez.. perhaps it's cos i think i wont fair well for the exams.. ugh!
.
to make things worse, i had called up a day before to make an appointment with my hairstylist, but when i reached there, they told me he took leave that day itself! bah! couldnt they have informed me?! pfft.. and so, cos i was so enthu on getting my hair done, i decided to ask a random guy to cut. in the end, it turned out, not what i really expected and it doesnt look as feminine. grrr... i hope my hair grows out soon soon soon! and, i've gotta find a new stylist soon cos i ain't going all the way back to Pulau Boon Lay to get my hair done! haha..
.
anyway, after the haircut, i came back to school to meet the climbers whose exams had ended to go for dinner @ IKEA! whee~! haha, i'm always jioing ppl at the end of their papers cos my coursemates still got more papers.. what started out as only San & I, turned out to be a big gathering of 11 peeps! woot~ haha, as true liberation drew nearer, we jio-ed more n more ppl and since word spreads very fast both in and out of the gym, well, a snowball effect emerged. haha the more the merrier!
.
after the scrumptious dinner(i just lurrrve the meatballs) with crazy ppl, we walked around ikea and had much fun talking and 'playing' there. not exactly running around like kids playing catching (though Cher had suggested it!), but fooling around with the furniture and talking crap. haha! then after tt, a few of us adjourned to Cineleisure intending to catch a late night movie, but there weren't any suitable timings, so we rented a room for $5/hr & $6/title. the concept is so cool! we watched 'Thank You for Smoking' which has witty characters and a good plot. 5 of us paid just $16! everybardie, let's go chill there! hehe.. and after tt, feng, being the nice guy, was gonna drop me off at some place where i could take a straight bus home, but on the way to dropping me off at Suntec, he thought why not go 85 for supper! haha.. good stuff! sadly, Nitz was already in slumber.. but the whole 'Last Day' thing was fun!

oh, and i surprised the silly boy with chai chee porridge cos he was so sick.. happy, happy =] get well soon! walked to 85 to get it and while contemplating if i should get ah-balling for myself.. i decided to give it a miss cos i had no cravings that day and dinner had hardly passed an hour ago. but jeez.. lucky to have a supper place 'near' (20-min walk) home! can easily jio ppl to come over and chill, and after tt, it's more convenient to go home! *smiles cheekily* =p

guess for now, i've really gotta get started on my resume and my job search! banks, investment companies, the financial sector, here i come!

woo~ this year was special cos Sis & Andrew treated ALL of us to an 8-course dinner at Prima a.k.a. the Revolving Restaurant. the food was superb! yummy! *slurps* we had scallops, sharks fin, deer meet to name a few, and the dessert, Toffee Banana was delicious! *drools* haha.. the funniest thing was, my youngest bro enjoyed the food so much that he kept eating and at the end of dinner, his stomach was so packed that he could hardly stand up straight! hehe.. that silly bro!
.
May my dearest Mummy be pretty & cheerful always. THX Mummy dearest for loving us unconditionally! *hearts*
