To the Clouds and Backthat's the feeling i get when climbing.
but frankly, i've stopped climbing..
but all things climbing, continue to interest me.
surfing around, found out there's so many types of climbing like alpine climbing, ice climbing, rock climbing, canyoning, buildering etc. Out of the many different types, i've tried 2, of which i've already stopped rock climbing for 2 yrs now (wow.. tt's quite long) and moutain climbing for 1 year. rock climbing had always been an interest but i never took the plunge in getting competitive. till 1 fine day, i decided, what the heck.. and so, had 2 wonderful yrs of climbing and met the loveliest people =] mountain climbing was actually something tt i thought would never happen. i loved to see Claud's beautiful pix of her adventures and then while in the midst of planning to go NYC with SF to find Ling, Nit and Kum started talking to me abt their plan to go S. Africa! tt made me seriously consider on this adventure i could call my own. and so plans were underway less than 4 mths before the trip. it was out-of-this-world!
looking at youtube vids online stir back really fond memories of these climbing experiences. on how the pro rock climbers try out the routes, their perserverence and their 'send' of the route. on moutaineering, i love seeing the views they see, their camping grounds and their progress to the summit. the completion of their goals is just pure bliss to them.
maybe it's this interest in climbing that made me return back to blogging? haha.. in some weird way, while i always felt like blogging, i never got down to doing it since Aug 08. then after i followed the news on the Women's Everest team, i just had the urge to compliment their efforts. way cool!
anyway, it was climbers' weekend last week. a housewarming at Teckie's place w lotsa chips and beer while playing Wii! fun times!

first got hooked when San n Ly started talking abt it back in May, and then tt night itself, w Feng's controllers in hand, off we went to Cine and played till 2am! we were so charged w energy!

and then on sunday, i joined the 'lao ren gang' for the first time. ha.. they are actually mostly just another batch before ours, so they are not that old. had brunch at ECP and while i've pratically lived my whole life on the east coast, i've never had brunch there. usually dinner or brekkie. or when i run w Nit, we usually have brekkie near our homes so it's not so far to walk back home after tt.
.
it was interesting that most of them have branched out to having a new sport in their lives, like diving and cycling and blading. but, most of them, are still climbing =]
