then off we went to the place where i was sure no one had stepped into since it had just opened in Dec '07.. St Regis Hotel! i decided to bring my family there for Dim Sum cos i read abt the good reviews in Sunday Times.
take a look at the huge chandelier at the entrance of the hotel! the place looked really nice and i'm sure the prices are extremely pretty too since a night's stay here could be easily priced at $700+ per night.
super duper miss my bro when he's in camp all day.. when the two lil' bros are at home, there's a whole lot of ruckus but it really emphasizes the warmth in the family. and these two kids really crack me up with their funny language when they talk to each other =]
alrighty, now for the food @ Yan Ting! Daddy wanted me to pick and order the dishes as usual, but didn't want to since it was his birthday and he knows the good dishes to order for dim sum. in the end we ordered a total of 10 diff types and they were all really yummy! *slurps* the service was also impeccable! *thumbs up!* just that it took a little long for the dishes to be prepared.
at the end of the meal when they asked if wanted to take any desserts, i told them i had corresponded with one of their staff who had offered me a complimentary dessert of my choice for the birthday person. they took pretty long to get back to me, but when they did, they advised that they were preparing a birthday cake! *stunned* but the wait was really worth it, cos the bday cake looked really good and it was on the house! gee, Dad was really shy and didn't want us to sing a bday song the 2nd round, but the waitress started the ball rolling when she brought the cake in and we all joined in. Daddy looked really happy!
yeah! i'm glad my dad appreciated the effort in bringing the family out and everyone enjoyed the food =] good recommendation from the papers! oh, but think twice if you are thinking of having ala carte there, cos every dish is served per person, not one that everyone can share. average price for each dish is abt $12, so each person would prob be approx $100+. but dim sum was good which was slightly higher priced than $20 per person. *whew* luckily the bill wasn't too high, cos considering the ambience, service and food, it was really worth it!
my beautiful family with prob an addition to the family in about a year's time. anyway, just really glad my bros spiced things up for me. *hugs*
